SURE FOOT Equine Balance Pads are for use with the patented SURE FOOT Equine Stability Program® developed by Wendy Murdoch. This Program is a progressive system of offering a variety of unstable surfaces to the horse. SURE FOOT Pads are designed to help support function and mobility and may help improve posture and proprioception.
Firm Slant Pads are color-coded with yellow on one side and charcoal on the other. They are made of the same material as the Firm Pad but cut on an angle. Firm Slants should only be used with the color side up because they are more stable that way.

Firm Slants will “give” more under the horse’s weight than Hard Slants. They also yield laterally (side-to-side) similar to Firm Pads, depending on where the hoof is along the slant thickness.

Horses may stand anywhere along the angle of the Pad from the thin leading edge to the full height at the back (3”). Horses that are new to the instability of Firm Pads may benefit from using Firm Slants first because they can stand on the thin leading edge. This offers the horse a chance to experience the feeling of the Firm Pad without the full height.

Although horses seem to prefer Firm Slants positioned heel-high, they can be used in any direction – heel-high, heel-low, or side-high – and under any hooves, front or hind.
