We try to make consignment as easy as possible for our consignors. We charge a reasonable 25% consignment fee if the item sells. If you have over 50 items, please call ahead for an appointment so we do not overlap large loads. Smaller loads can be dropped off during any normal business hours.
Items must be clean and in good repair. Dirty, moldy, or hairy items will NOT be accepted. Please do not bring moldy or dirty tack. Horse blankets and saddle pads need to be clean enough to not get the one next to it dirty. See our consignment policies further down for more information on acceptable consignments.
All items will be priced with the consignor. The consignor will receive a list of items left on consignment with the agreed upon prices.
Northwest Tack Consignment Consignment Policies
Northwest tack consignment will be referred to as NTC in this document.
Should your item(s) sell, NTC will retain 25% of the final sales price, less any cleaning fees if needed (cleaning fees are discussed and agreed upon at time of consignment). NTC will contact the consignor regarding sales when all items are sold, a saddle sells, or an account exceeds $200 in sales. The consignor can check in on their sales at any time. Methods of payment include in store credit, check, venmo, or PayPal.
Automatic Price Reductions:
All price tags are marked with the date the item was consigned. After 60 days, the item will be automatically reduced by 25%. After another 30 days (90 days total), the item will be 50% off original price. After 120 days, items will be automatically donated to a 501c3 charity of our choosing. If you do not wish to have your items reduced or donated, you are responsible for arranging pickup prior to the discount or donation date. You must give 24 hours notice before pickup to allow time for items to be gathered.
NTC will NOT call to warn you that items are going on sale or being donated according to time in store.
|60 days||25% off original price|
|90 days||50% off original price|
|120 days||Donated to charity|
Condition of Saddles
Saddles must be ready to be listed on our website. We will not be accepting any saddles that are moldy, dusty, or in need of repairs. All silver must be clean, and not have any tarnish. If the consignor is not able to clean their saddle, there will be a minimum $25 cleaning fee. The fee will be discussed and agreed upon at intake with the consignor. All rigging and billets on saddles must be in safe usable condition. We do not accept saddles that do not have a brand, or that are valued at less than $150.
Any saddle that is checked out within 30 days of consignment will be subject to a $10.00 listing fee to cover employee hours spent photographing and listing the saddle on our website. Any non-saddle item that is checked out within 30 days of consignment will be subject to a $00.50 (fifty cent) listing fee per item. We spend time tagging, and displaying items.
Consignor must give 24 hours notice before item pickup. This allows us time to locate the item(s).
Items not accepted include, but are not limited to:
Used helmets, nylon tack, dirty or moldy tack, prescription horse medication, insulated hoods that cover the horse’s face, used grooming tools, and more. We also no longer accept items that we value at less than $5.00. It costs more for us to tag those items than we receive in commission. Apparel must be from within 5 years of manufacture, and without stains. Please dry clean or launder items before consignment. We are no longer accepting saddles without a brand name, or saddles that are valued at less than $150.00.
NTC posts some of our items on social media sites, and our website. We do not allow consignors to market their own item. If a consignor is found to be marketing their own item on social media, craigslist, ebay, etc. they will be contacted to pick up all items, and barred from future consignment.
We do take some items to shows that we are vendors at to improve the visibility and help sell items to the right audience. If you need to pick up an item, you may be unable to if it is at an event. Item pickup requires at least 24 hours notice.
It is understood that all items sent to NTC for the purpose of consignment remain the property of their owner while advertised for sale with NTC. The consignor is strongly encouraged to list all items under their insurance policy. The consignor agrees that NTC is not responsible for any damages to the consignment items, and that a reasonable amount of wear may occur to the item(s) from display and handling from either employees, customers, or potential buyers.
The consignor, upon agreement to this contract, agrees to allow their saddle to go on trials for three business days with serious prospective buyers at the discretion of NTC. All saddles are photographed during original intake, and inspected again after being returned from a trial. Prospective buyers sign an agreement to pay for saddle in full if any damages occur during a saddle trial.
Should your item(s) sell, NTC will retain 25% of the final sales price, less any cleaning fees if needed. NTC will contact the consignor regarding sales when all items are sold, a saddle sells, or an account exceeds $200 in sales. The consignor can check in on their sales at any time. Methods of payment include in store credit, check, venmo, or PayPal.
By signing this agreement the consignor acknowledges their acceptance of the above terms. The consignor is also acknowledging that they are the owner of the consigned item(s), and as such has the right to consign the items for sale through NTC.
I, __________________________________ agree to all above consignment terms.
